Where can i buy fish stock in san diego

Fresh seafood and very good prices keeps me coming back every week. We visited Trangs because we wanted to buy live Maine lobster. We went there thinking the market was going to be big but the market is a really small place. They have a seafood counter which takes up the majority of the market. They have a large selection of fresh seafood. The smell in the market has a very strong fishy smell. I had to spray myself with body spray once we left the market to get rid of the smell that was stuck to my clothing.

There was an Asian lady standing on the back wall looking and staring at us Will I go there again, prob not, I'll prob go a better, cleaner and bigger fish market I am new to the area so I wanted to find a good fish market.

Came by here and they have a wide selection. The tilapia is meaty and pink but it comes from China. While there are conflicting reports of the quality and safety of tilapia from China, I just avoid it because there are other alternative markets from which it is imported. Also, this market is too far away from where I live in San Diego.

I made a quick first visit to Trang's the other day, just to get an idea of the setup and selection. The shop was smaller than I'd anticipated, but it seems to be run very efficiently. There are a couple of freezers up front, then a cash register, a deli counter containing fish and shellfish, and at the back, a guy cleaning fish. Oh, and live blue crabs, and some oysters and clams on ice, near the rear entrance.

My first thought was that I prefer the larger selection I've found at World Foods and 99 Ranch Market.

I really miss the massive live tanks at the long-since-gone Vien Dong at Linda Vista and Ulric; live shrimp in a grocery store! I am anxious to test my theory. The lady who answered the phone said yes, we have some left. I want back in and had them re-weigh the shrimp and they gave the money back. Called my bank and put in a dispute.

Called Trang's Seafood Market and was told the lady I need to speak to was not in and to call back. Trust and believe I will! Don't think it will be an issue but you never know. Everyone should check your receipts and your bank charges if a debit card is being used..

Was on vacation with the boys last week and we arrived at Trangs last Sunday when El Nino was making his visit. Plus, bought the killer tamales from the Oaxacena ladies and produce from the little market next door. This is my new favorite seafood spot!! I used to always go to Point Loma seafood for shellfish, because the selection at most grocery stores is sparse and usually half-frozen, but that place is so over-priced.

The selection was awesome, and prices were right. We kept them over night and made them for Valentine's day dinner, and I think out of the whole bunch only one didn't open, which is the best batch I've ever had. They also have lots of oysters, and a great selection of fish and shrimp and octopus, etc. I'll be back for sure.

I just wish it was a little closer. Pretty standard local fish market. The flies let you know it's fresh! I always see tilapia and catfish in the live fish tank. Pretty good variety of shrimp and shellfish. Prices are also very good. Good place to stop if you decide last minute you wanna throw another shrimp on the barbie.

They close pretty early too, not sure what time. Come in the morning for maximum freshness! Just bought live Maine lobsters yesterday. Up until then I had never been here before so I didn't know what to expect. Well, not only did they have a large selection of great sized fresh live Maine lobster, they had them for a great price.

I was in a bit of a hurry, but I breezed through and saw a good variety of fresh seafood including live crawfish, fish and shrimp also for reasonable prices. The staff was super friendly and I can't wait to come back. I feel like I've discovered my new local gem of a seafood shop!

Little skeptical about this. But just like the reviews it was great deals and quality seafood.

Will definitely be back. A real live fishmonger! This place has some of the best prices around and they have a really good variety of seafood. If you like shrimp, you are in for a treat. I think I counted about 20 different kinds, including peeled, head-on, head-off, giant freshwater prawns, and all different sizes.

They have boxes of green mussels, octopus, lump crab meat, live crabs, live fish, live lobster, oysters, clams The refrigerated case has lots of whole fish and fillets.

Again, the prices are fantastic. And if you want soup, they have cheap fish heads. Yes, fish heads, fish heads.

Pretty small mom and pop business that sells only seafood at very good prices. Not bad at all. They mustve had at least 20 varieties of fish and at least 5 varieties of shrimp.

The grandmother of the owner was near the door trying to help customers in very broken English haha Located right next door to Cam Ky Bbq, one of my favourite Chinese eateries.

This is an awesome place to buy your fresh seafood and live fish! I was at a nearby restaurant and randomly stumbled upon this place. It's a pretty small shop but the prices are cheap and they have a nice variety of goodies. Just imagine the seafood section of an Asian supermarket like 99 Ranch. One of the best places to get oysters in San Diego hands down. This place is a legit mom and pop seafood market, its a small store, but the prices that they have on their seafood is worth driving all the way up from the southbay of San Diego.
